Summary:
For a number of nuclear plants close to the Austrian borders, dispersion and deposition of radioactive emissions has been calculated on the basis of selected accident scenarios. Depending on the problem, own programmes (e.g., FLEXPART), the wide-spread programme PC-COSYMA or the German accident regulations have been applied.
NOTE: Due to the reorganisation of UBA's web site, all the links pointing to files in www.ubavie.gv.at are redirected to the new home page www.umweltbundesamt.at. Until I have fixed all of them, please select "Kernenergie" on this start page and find your way from there. |
A recent example is the study on the completion of the Ukrainian reactors Khmelnitzky 2 and Rowno 4. IMP has contributed to a report to the Austrian Government, coordinated by the Federal Environmental Agency UBA. You can view this report in pdf format. More details of the K2-R4 process can be found at UBA (partly in German).
Another example is a similar report with respect to EIA related to modifications in the NPP Temelin. The Federal Environmental Agency (UBA) offers all the detailed documents about the Temelin NPP and the ongoing studies. related web page at the (in German).
| Project RISKMAP (Mapping the risk in Europe due to severe accidents in nuclear power plants). See also below, publication by Andreev et al., and the html overview at UBA. |
